Today the Etzim classroom had some interesting guests. First we were visited by a Daddy Longlegs. We put the spider in a jar and examined him throughout the day, releasing him to the woods when we went outside to play yelling "Good-bye DaddyO!" Our second guest was the insect pictured here We think it is some kind of beetle and we've done some investigative work on the computer, but the matches don't seem quite right. Does anyone have any ideas on what type of insect this might be? We identified the following about this insect: It has four small legs and two longer back legs. It has antennae, it is brown and yellow and black. Olivia's guessed it was a "scratchhopper!"
