Kohavim Presents The Story of Purim! The children of Kohavim have been busy producing their first official film! The children participated in each step of the process, from developing the list of roles or characters, planning and creating scenery, rehearsing, acting, and adding sound-effects!
In the beginning planning stages, the Kohavim children listed all of the characters they wanted to include in their movie. |
The children agreed they would need a castle for their movie. Children used sponges to paint a very large piece of cardboard. They discovered that stamping the sponges created a brick effect. When the paint was dry, the teachers assisted the children in cutting a door in the castle and the crenels or lower sections at the top of the castle.
When the scenery was set, it was time to rehearse. The children rehearsed their lines and sat in the audience to watch each other act out their roles. During our first rehearsal, we referred to a Purim story, but invited the children to write their own lines. On Wednesday, we filmed our movie! And on Thursday, we hard our first official screening for all of the children's center to see!
We are looking forward to having the families watch our movie during Curriculum Night, on Wednesday, March 6th!
