On Monday, we began talking about Moses, the baby, and his mother Yocheved. Using baby dolls, boxes as baskets and blue construction paper for a river, the Shamayim children re-enacted the beginning of the Passover story. They wrapped baby Moses carefully and lovingly (some gave kisses), placed him in the "basket" and placed him gently into the "river".
We discussed how the Princess found Moses and decided to keep him as her own and that Miriam, Moses's sister, offered to help the Princess care for the baby.
We are excited to have the Rabbi visit us tomorrow so that we can continue learning about what happens as Moses grows up.
What a great idea! The group looks so engaged. It really brings this to life!
