Authors and Illustrators

Yesterday Micah G. and Micah R. discovered some blank books in the writing center and decided to write and illustrate their own books.  Today Micah R. proudly shared his animal book with the class during our meeting. The children were very inspired!

The writing bug caught on as lots of friends created their own books during choice time.  We had books about animals, rocket ships, monsters, and letters. We worked together to try and spell some words.  Samantha was trying to figure out what letter giraffe started with.  That was a tricky one because it actually sounds like a J.  As a team we figured out that it started with the letter  G.
