During this week of Purim, we have been talking about the story of Esther, the King, Mordecai and Haman. The children have listened to many stories and poems about Purim. Today they played a game called IT HAPPENED IN SHOSHAN. The object of the game is to move around the board until each player collects four pictures: one each of Mordecai, the King, Esther, and Haman.
The children enjoyed taking turns and waiting to roll the die and move around the board the number of spaces that the die indicated. The game continued until all the children got the four pictures. The game required waiting for your turn patiently and concentrating on the task at hand. The children were very courteous towards each other and offered help to their fellow players. It was fun to watch them and experience the common courtesy and camaraderie they showed each other.
