Hadley Winkler was so excited that her father, Rick, was coming in to read to the class and talk about his hobby of running marathons. The children loved listening to the books Rick read but the highlight was seeing the many medals that he had won over the years. The medals resembling Mickey Mouse were the most recognizable and attractive to the children. They were very curious, asking a lot of questions about the pictures and wording on the medals. This was a great time for Rick to join us since we are talking about good nutrition all week, and the things we need to do to be healthy. The children shared the different athletic activities they did as we talked about the importance of exercise along with good eating habits.
