Calling all customers ~

Our next door neighbors, Tina, Mary Ann, and Nancy had some grocery shopping to do. We invited them in where they were able to come to our shuk and purchase various items. We had green~yellow~red~orange peppers, red and yellow apples, bananas, watermelon, corn on the cob, oranges, zuchini, lettuce, parsley, and lots of spices.

Items needed to be weighed, and money exchanged. Lucky for our shoppers, though they didn't have any schekels to purchase their food, our cashiers, eagerly shared their coins and money. I do believe it is the first time the store owners actually give the shoppers money to buy. Such good sharers!!!

We had crystalized ginger which some of our eager shoppers smelled then taste tested. You may want to ask them what they thought of the ginger?

We are still enjoying many new adventures in Israel so stay tuned.

  1. Rachel loved the shuk so much that she created one at home. My living room was converted into a pillow fort shuk complete with grapes, oatmeal, breakfast bars (and anything else that wouldn't spill). She insisted on real food because you had real food (not the pretend stuff in our playroom).
