My Father's Dragon

Over the past few days in the Haifa classroom, we have begun to read a new chapter book called My Father's Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett. This book tells the story of Elmer Elevator, a young boy who runs away to Wild Island to rescue a baby dragon. Everyone in the class seems spellbound over this book, and is enjoying it immensely! Today in class we finished Chapter Three and are waiting to hear most of Elmer's adventure tomorrow. In the story, Elmer has a backpack full of peculiar items that he needs for the trip to rescue the dragon, can your Haifa All-star name any? I'll give you a hint! 10 Pink lollipops, A LOT of chewing gum, 7 hair ribbons! Peculiar Indeed! My Father's Dragon is the first book of a trilogy so maybe families can even continue Elmer's adventure through the summer!
