The Sunshines have enjoyed Once Upon a Shabbos, by Jacqueline Jules. In this modern day fairy tale, two children encounter a bear while shopping for honey for their bubbe's kugel. This bear wandered away from a fairy tale, and ended up in Brooklyn. Bubbe solves the problem and teaches the children about the spirit of Shabbat, and the joy of sharing it with Shabbat guests. The Sunshines worked together to make Bubbe's special kugel, and sampled it for snack.
Bubbe's Shabbos Kugel
Boil 8 ounces of medium noodles, and drain.
Mix together 3 eggs, beaten, 4 Tbsp. margarine or butter, 8 ounces crushed pineapple, 1/4 cup honey. Add noodles, pour into greased baking pan. Sprinkle top with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or until set. Enjoy!
