Happy Birthday Mia and Israel!

Today was a fun filled morning as the Tel Aviv All Stars celebrated Mia's birthday with Michele and Rabbi Todd. Michele stayed with us all morning and shared several books, games, pictures, and artifacts related to Israel as we celebrated Yom Ha'atzmaut or Israel Independence Day. Michele helped the children to make Israeli flags---or their version of Israeli flags---as we listened to Israeli music while playing and snacking. Our dramatic play area was beginning to look like a shuk as we added fruits and vegetables along with cash registers to facilitate purchases. Michele brought in some Israeli money which, along with some money I had, was used to purchase various items from the shuk. Before we return from Israel we hope to add to our museum as well as introduce the children to an archaeological dig as we hide pieces of pottery in the sand filled sensory table. Our museum is taking loans to enhance its collection!

Photographs will be coming soon.
