Give Me Five

We made Chamsas for good luck. The Chamsa, a hand-shaped amulet showing the five fingers of the hand is believed to keep away the evil eye. Chamsa is Arabic for five, the Hebrew word is Chamesh-חמש
It is sometimes referred to as the "Hand of Miriam", referring to Moses sister.

While rabbinic Judaism opposes the use of lucky charms,Jews particularly Sepharadim, have worn them as jewelry or hung Chamsas as decorations in their homes.
