art in nature
One of the great things about having children play outside is that they have so many options. They can ride bikes, swing, climb, slide, dig, rake and run. But they also can be creative . Some of the Scientists did just that. As you know we have been discussing nature in our classroom and using nature in our art projects. So a few kids decided to collect leaves. They noticed that they really were not so colorful. "Hey Judi, these leaves don't have any color." I of course agreed. The next thing I know, a bunch of them decided to add color to the leaves using chalk. There was a lot of excitement and sharing of colors and sharing of their coloring techniques. Another fun day in the Scientist classroom.
