Fun With The Three Little Pigs!

Today the children listened attentively to the story of The Three Little Pigs in a variety of ways. During large and small group time I read a few different versions of The Three Little Pigs, as each of the books had a different ending. Then I retold the story by using a feltboard board. We will continue to encourage the children to retell the story/stories on the feltboard, throughout the course of the week.

The children had the opportunity to construct modern houses from drinking straws, craft sticks and legos. They were asked which house is sturdier and which house they might choose and why?

Isaiah- "Not the straw house because you can blow it over."

Aden-"The sticks might be okay for a while."

Teddy P- "If you tape the straws I can use the straws."

Aaron -"The legos(bricks) will work best."

Mia- "The brick house will work best."

Hadley-"Definitely the legos(bricks)."

Tomorrow we will retell the story and write our own ending! We can't wait!

  1. Do you have "The True Story of the Three Little Pigs" told from the perspective of the wolf? We've got that somewhere if you have any interest in borrowing it.

  2. It's all about my dear old granny, and borrowing a cup of sugar. That is the real story. I enjoyed reading it to my two girls as well. It is so funny and the illustrations are great as well. That would be a good addition for sure.
