Diary of the Worm~ as dictated by the Kohavim class
The Kohavim boys and girls have been very curious about worms As they observed the worm with Sasha, they noticed that it was BIG and moving in one direction. Sasha asked, which part they thought was the 'head'? Mia pointed to the part she thought was the head. When asked why she thought that, she responded that it was moving ---------->>>>> so that MUST be the head. ( The power of observation and logic~)
And then they had to NAME the worm. Some thought it was a "mommy worm", and others thought it was a "daddy", because it was BIG, and daddy's are BIG." Now that the worm was given an identity, the next question was do worms have brains???
What do YOU think?? What do worms do? Matt responded that worms make soil for our veggies." while Mia responded that "it sucks the soil to make flowers."
Having, by now, developed a love for this worm, they asked if they could bring it inside. With some hesitation, because I am not a worm enthusiast, it was agreed, this "daddy" worm could come inside. But what did the worm need inside?
Oliver thought we needed to put it in dirt so it could live, and Mia said: Let's get dirt and leaves because that is where it's naturally alive."
So off they went in search of a habitat for this BIG DADDY Worm. We are looking forward to more inquiries and adventure of this daddy/mommy worm.

What a cool display for the students to be able to look back at and re-engage with even after the original discussion! And such a neat original discussion!!!!
