Learning lessons through gross motor play

The Kochavim class is definitely taking advantage of the nice weather to get some energy out and to practice gross motor skills. The children have played a number of short pick up games of soccer and basketball, and some have tried to beat their personal best while dribbling with one of the balls. When this has become too competititve, the teachers have helped the children to re-direct their focus on the fun of the sport and the physical strength and stamina they are acquiring when they are active. Records are set and broken but in the end it's just a game and it should be fun.

  1. I love seeing how the net that started as a hockey goal has turned into a soccer goal. Cool that they have gotten so much use our of it. Would they be interested in learning about their bodies as related to these sports- feeling their hearts beating at different speeds and such?
