Oh NO not the WILD card

Friends had a great time playing Uno. Despite being a competitive game, we cheered each other on, took turns, and learned that things can change very quickly in this game. Sometime we have to pick up 4, or 2, or get skipped, and we might be a disappointed, but one never knows what the next card will bring. Providing children with this experience of both disappointment, and triump, allows them opportunity to regulate their emotions and understand that their emotions do change with time and circumstance.

  1. First of all, the pictures are fantastic! Secondly, Mia loves this game and I would much prefer that she play it with cards than on the iPad. Thirdly, I am thrilled that you are encouraging healthy competition without teasing, crying, or tantrums. I am sure it's not always easy, but I appreciate any attempts to work on that!
