What is this?

Today at the end of outside play switching to lunch bunch, some Unicorns were examining the bean pods that have taken the floor of the playground. We let them fall from standing on top on the play structure, we even made some music with the shaking of the beans inside the dried pod. Then we saw, the beans/seeds could come out and be planted again! Drew planted his branch he found because it looked like a tree, and other Unicorns joined in to start planting the seeds in the ground... will something pop up come spring time? We will have to wait and see.

Special thanks to Kohavim students: Jesse, Josh R, and Sam for their patience and helping the unicorns find some pods and helping to plant!

Steps to planting:

1. Find a pod that "rattles". You might have to shake it really close to your ear to hear it. Some rattles are softer than others.

2. Brush aside a little space in the mulch.

3. Stick the bean all the way down in the dirt. You can use your finger, a stick, or a tool from the sandbox.

4. Cover the hole back up.

5. Repeat with more seeds!
