Zachary invited me over to the playdough table and offered me a piece of squishy, freshly made playdough. We rolled and squished for a few minutes and then I started to roll small pieces into smooth balls. "How did you do that?" Zachary wanted to know. I demonstrated the steps: Pull off a piece, roll it between your palms, and don't forget the sound effects. "But how did you make it?" he asked again. Again I demonstrated the steps. Zachary watched carefully, then pulled off a chunk of playdough and got right to work, rolling and rolling. Soon we had a whole pile of balls filling the table.
