It is still a favorite time

We have been having a circle time since the beginning of the year and it is still a favorite time for all of us.
The children are all together as a group twice during the morning - once in this circle that you see in the picture and once at the end of the day for story time. In the first circle we talk about the date on the calendar and the weather. The stick person counts the number of people in our class and we see if someone is absent. We further discuss our topic - this week and for the next several weeks it is music - and then we let the children decide which area of the room they will start their free choice time. Routine is good for children - and adults.
