Fun with with water colors!

The Tel Aviv Lunch Bunch children have been exploring with Fall colors... orange, green, yellow, and brown. My focus was for the children to deepen their relationship with color. The children were invited over to the Art Center. "We're going to do the work of scientists and artists, and see what we can discover about color." The children were introduced to the materials. The eyedroppers were a new tool for a few of the children; I demonstrated how to use them. After a simple orientation to the materials, the children were invited to dive into their reasearch, exploring the possibilities that the colored water holds.

As the children explored, I invited them to reflect. "What happens when the red meets the yellow water?" Josie discovered a green bubble at the bottom of her eyedropper. I asked, "Why do you think that is happening?" When we were finished cleaning up we placed our colorful coffee filter creations on the sensory table to dry. I asked the children if we could hang them in the TBSCC sukkah. The children embraced the idea and were excited to decorate the sukkah!
