Today in Levana, the children celebrated the Jewish Holiday of Simchat Torah "Rejoicing with/of the Torah".
To celebrate the holiday, our friends painted/scribed with feathers and paint on out class Torah. This was a fun activity to mimic the job of a Sofer (a scribe) who spends a years time writing each Hebrew letter of the 5 books of Moses on parchment, creating a Sefer Torah (Torah Scroll.)
The kids also got to pass around and play with a stuffed Torah, as well as take a walk to the sanctuary to see Rabbi Todd unroll the Torah to see how long it is. Very long! Very cool!
