Building Our Muscles
Today, the Rainbows worked on developing their muscles by doing art standing up at the easel and the chalkboard. Standing, rather than sitting, helps develop upper body strength and greater muscle flexibility. This type of community art also allows for a lot of conversation and dialogue as the children become interested in whoever is next to them and what he/she is drawing. The children also have a lot more freedom to move around and utilize a bigger space, as Sami noticed when she realized that she was able to make lines across the entire chalkboard!
