Memory

War and other card games have been such a hit in the Haifa class. Not only are these games a way for children to learn to take turns and resolve conflicts, but they are also an important way to develop their perceptual skills. Visual memory helps us recall what we've seen, a critical pre-reading skill. And most of all, the Haifa kids never seem to tire of these games. The game table in the back of the classroom seems to always be filled with engaged and focused children.
