On Shabbat the Scientists take a break from our regular schedule of the week to kick back and relax a bit! We do different activities than we do all week, and we have extended time to play and relax because, what else is Shabbat about??
Yesterday one of our activities for our students to do was beading. The Scientists love to bead; necklaces, bracelets, anklets, anything you can imagine. Beading is great for five year olds because it develops their eye hand coordination as well as their persistance.
Here you can see Jayden working intently on her necklace for the second time. Her necklace fell out of her hand when she was just about finished and all of the beads fell off! But instead of giving up, Jayden picked up all of the beads and started stringing again right away!
In this photo, Alison is working hard on her bracelet with a very precise pattern. You can see the focus in her body language, and the bracelet turned out great.
