Today we put some cranberries in the sensory table with water, which was immediately a big hit. Hannah, Eli and Max headed over to pick up the cranberries with spoons and then put them in bowls. After awhile Eliza and Lily came over to have a turn playing at the sensory table. There wasn’t any room but then Hannah had a great idea. She decided that they should make Cranberry soup! Cranberry soup meant that they took some cranberries from the sensory table and brought them in a pot over to the kitchen in dramatic play. They put the pot on the stove, stirred it and then stuck the pot in the oven so it could cook. I was amazed at how max and Hannah made soup together step by step each sharing their ideas and planning the next step for cooking together. It was great to see the flexibility and innovation of bring something from the sensory table to dramatic play. It was also neat to see how Max and Hannah were modeling cooking with cranberries to prepare for a thanksgiving feast! YUM!
Hannah has the cooking "bug"! She baked brownies and stuffed shells with her Nana yesterday! Love how they all worked together!!
