Gak

Making gak takes muscle and persistence, and the Levana children have plenty of both. We needed four bottles of white glue to get the 2 cups required, and this took a lot of squeezing. Then there was a lot of mixing to do, as we added water, borax and food coloring to the glue. Next came the kneading that eventually produced a smooth, silly-putty-like medium for rolling, molding, stretching and cutting. The children love to create their own play-dough and gak as much as they enjoy playing with it when it is ready, and we do this together often.

  1. We love all of new experiences the kids get to try at school. Thanks for always making it fun and exciting for them. I can only imagine how thrilled Eliana must have been to squeeze that glue into the bowl. At home we usually have to tell her to stop squeezing bc she has enough! She must have loved it! Thanks for sharing these great pictures!
