Planting Seeds
As we continued to celebrate our wonderful world, the Kohavim lunch bunch boys and girls planted seeds. We planted lima beans and apple seeds. How can we help these seeds grow? What do they need? They needs 'water' and 'sun'. We will be observing for signs of growth and keeping a journal of how many days it takes for them to sprout. We asked, which do they think will grow first? Some predicted, the lima bean because it is 'bigger'; some predicted, the apple seed because it is 'littler' ( smaller); and one boy predicted 'they are going to grow at the same time because we planted them at the same time.' Stay tuned as we observe their growth.

I heard an idea for a timeline sort of seed planting system. You start with a long planter. Every day at lunch and snack children look for seeds in their fruit and plant them long the planter, marking them with the date. As time goes on you keep planting towards the right
ReplyDeleteThanks for the idea. The children have been noticing seeds in their fruit for some time and have been eager to plant them. I have some long planters so we will embark on this planting journey.
