Shabbat Shalom Rabbi Todd!

Every Friday Rabbi Todd, Rabbi Jay, or Max (who the children like to call "Rabbi Max") greets the group with "Shabbat Shalom Children's Center!"  The children know to get ready and enthusiastically reply, "Shabbat Shalom Rabbi Todd!"  Week in and week out, this ritual is as important to our Shabbat celebration as the music and blessings.  Ask your child for a demo.

  1. I was at the beginning of Friday night services this past Shabbat with Mia and Adam, sitting at the entrance to the sanctuary. Todd (aka Rabbi Todd) said, "Shabbat Shalom" to the entire congregation. Some people responded but it mostly sounded like mumbling. Mia turned to me and whispered, "Why don't they say, 'Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Todd' like at the Children's Center?" Very good question, Mia!
