After putting a few shells in our indoor sandbox, the rest of the shells were up for grabs. Some children looked for shells with tiny holes so they could make necklaces. I was the lucky recipient of one of these creations. Thank you Jesse! Another popular activity that arose spontaneously was to color the shells. It takes very little to stimulate the natural curiosity and creativity of young children.
