The court is in session
The Kohavim children entered the community room today with their usual abundance of energy and enthusiasm. Uh oh, the room was set up with tables and chairs. What to do? The children immediately decided to sit around the table, and I was inspired to arrange a mock courtroom scene. With Judge Melissa presiding, I took the first case. Teddy Fox had found a bear in his yard and wanted to keep it. Unfortunately the bear belonged to his neighbor who wanted it back. I heard some arguments back and forth and was debating my decision. All of a sudden the courtroom erupted with other plaintiffs and defendants presenting their own cases. They all seemed to involve wild animals appearing on their doorsteps. I was exhausted but fortunately I had to call a recess since Eber appeared to move the tables and chairs so we could bring out the indoor play equipment. To be continued (possibly)........

I can totally picture it! What a creative and energetic class! And so spontaneous...I can imagine some deeper learning and exploration around courtrooms as the next direction in Kohavim! :)
