While we were outdoors during lunch bunch today, children from both the All Star class and Scientist class explored putting small pieces of wood together using play dough as their glue. Besides using the wood pieces as part of their constructions, they also utilized flat pieces of wood as mallets to press and form the play dough into other shapes and sizes.
As can be seen in the picture, they worked cooperatively to shape and mold the playdough using a variety of utensils. Some of the small wood pieces also contained various designs on them which the children pressed into the playdough to create impressions. They were surprised when they lifted the piece of wood up and saw what had formed on the playdough. It was wonderful to see all this creating and exploring going on!
