A birthday celebration is always a very special time - especially for children. In the Scientist class, we try to join in that celebration in a meaningful way. Our class always gives each birthday child a very special gift - "A Gift of Words." We make a special birthday card from the entire class, in which we tell the birthday child that we are glad that they are our friend, and why. Each child dictates a special sentiment about the birthday child - why they are glad he or she is their friend - and then each child signs the birthday card.
It is a joy to see the birthday child's beaming face as their "gift of words" is read aloud. Today, we celebrated Noah's 5th birthday, and his mom joined us to read a special story to the class, TWO COOL COWS, by Toby Speed. Thanks for sharing your mom with us, Noah!
