Painting Chaos

On Tuesday, the Rainbows explored fingerpainting, using washable tempera paint and shaving cream on butcher paper. The facial expressions indicate some initial skepticism, but the children soon began to enjoy mixing and spreading colors. The Rainbow class has been talking about the creation story, and learned that in the beginning, the world was in chaos; this is sometimes depicted as a random swirl of color such as we see here. In the coming weeks we will learn more about the six days of creation and seek to represent the wonder and beauty that replaced the chaos.
