Building on Mirrors

Our Rainbows explored shells, pumpkins and gourds and their reflections on mirrors. The children recognized the fragility of the shells and the mirrors handling them with care. Nathan asked "did an animal live in here?"while holding up a shell. Children sorted the shells according to size, color or shape. Lines, patterns and collections were formed and exclaimed upon.

We then introduced small, colored wooden blocks, built structures and noticed the wonderful shapes that were created by the mirror's reflections.
