Listening with all your heart to the Passover Story

Rabbi Todd brought the Lego Passover Story to our class today. You can see the engaged and focused looks on the children's faces as they hear the story. Shmiat HaOzen or attentiveness is necessary for acquiring Torah. It is literally "a listening of the ear". Yet Shmiat HaOzen goes far beyond mere listening to include understanding and responding and more. The root of "shmiat" is sh'ma - to listen with all your heart.

  1. It's pretty impressive to see them listening so intently. They all look so engaged!
