Beautiful Challahs!

This week the Haifa All Stars made challah from scratch. It was a two-day process. On Wednesday, all the ingredients were put together, including the yeast, and the dough was kneaded for the first time and put into the refrigerator to rise overnight. On Thursday, the dough was again brought out, kneaded and divided into two separate balls of dough. Each ball of dough was then divided up into three long portions so it could be braided. After the dough then rose for another thirty minutes, it was brushed with egg and put into the oven.

Look at the results! Two beautiful challahs that we are going to enjoy tomorrow for our Shabbat snack. The children excitedly participated in this two day process and cannot wait to taste their own homemade challah tomorrow!
