In honor of Tu B'Shevat we decided to pick a few fun experiments with plants indoors.
Quick- Growing Plants- Cut off an inch or more from the top of beets, radishes, turnips or carrots. Trim off the leaves. Plant in a dish of pebbles. Add water. Before long you will have a house plant.
Plants from Kitchen Seeds-Save the seeds of peppers, squash, melons, pumpkins, grapefruit, oranges, apples, lemons, figs, fresh peas, lima beans, and avocados. We have been saving orange and apple seeds for some time now. Today we opened and nibbled on green beans and snow peas. We are all looking forward to planting our kitchen seeds tomorrow.
When you get a chance stop in for a visit and check out the plants from our kitchen seeds/parsley plants for Passover, and the other science experiments going on in the Tel Aviv classroom!
Happy Tu B'Shevat!

Planting is so much fun! I got an amaryllis plant from one of my students and Mia and I planted it together. Today, Mia noticed that it had started to grow! We can't wait to watch it and document its growth. I am sure Mia will keep everyone updated on its progress!
