During choice time today, the white board was available for the children to draw pictures. Some of the children used one erase board marker to create something while others used multiple markers. Some of the children allowed their marker to just flow over the board while others created pictures with great detail. As you can see in the picture, Avery intently traced the details of his picture after drawing it. As he moved his finger around the lines of the picture, he could experience the curves and lines he had created. He also vocalized that his finger was acting as an eraser as he was moving it along. This white board activity allows the children to create on a completely smooth surface and use gliding motions in their drawings while at the same time opening up another avenue of sensory awareness by utilizing their fingers.
Thanks for sharing. It's great seeing what the kids are doing in the class room.
