Everyone likes a good book!

You don't have to be able to read to enjoy a good book!  Everyday after snack time, we bring out a big basket full of books for the students to look at.  Children can choose from a variety of books on different topics.  They know that after they've cleaned up from snack, they can sit quietly on the rug, and choose a book.

Samantha is looking at one of our favorite books. It's a big Arthur book with flaps to open.  Another class favorite is "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."

And even though independent reading is individual time, the whole group sits together on the rug, making it really a whole group experience.
