Remembering highlights of the day can be a challenge for a child. Instead of asking "What did you do at school today?" try asking a new question to spark a conversation about your child's day.
What was the best part of your day?
What was the hardest thing you had to do today?
Did anything funny happen?
What did you read about today?
Who did you play with today?
Who did you sit with at snack time?
Of course, a photo is worth 1,000 words and is a great conversation starter. Try showing your child a photo from the blog and let the conversation begin.
These are super helpful! We also have a "ritual" in which Mia tells us 4 things about her day. (It was 3 things when she was 3.) Sometimes she is more in the mood than others, but eventually she's willing to share something!
