Chatting About School

Remembering highlights of the day can be a challenge for a child. Instead of asking "What did you do at school today?" try asking a new question to spark a conversation about your child's day.
  • What was the best part of your day?
  • What was the hardest thing you had to do today?
  • Did anything funny happen?
  • What did you read about today?
  • Who did you play with today?
  • Who did you sit with at snack time?
Of course, a photo is worth 1,000 words and is a great conversation starter. Try showing your child a photo from the blog and let the conversation begin.

  1. These are super helpful! We also have a "ritual" in which Mia tells us 4 things about her day. (It was 3 things when she was 3.) Sometimes she is more in the mood than others, but eventually she's willing to share something!
