It's Friday morning. Let's get ready to welcome Shabbat. Rabbi Jay lit the tall white candles at the front of the sanctuary. We lit the candles made from our own fingers. We waved our hands towards our bodies to bring the Shabbat light in. Then we all sang the blessing together.
Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech haolam
Asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'zivanu l'hadlik ner shel Shabbat
Blessed are You, Eternal our God, Sovereign of time and space.
You hallow us with Your mitzvot and command us to kindle the lights of Shabbat.
