"What does this cup say?" asked Mia at snack time. "Read it," was the answer. "I'll give you a clue." I shaped my hands to form a heart. "That's what this word says," I told her. "Love! It says love!" A reader already.
This lesson must have taken. Later that day she pointed to the same word and asked me what it said. "What do you think it says?" I asked. "Love!" she shouted. No clue required this time.
If she needs a clue next time, the clue could be, "It's the overwhelming feeling you have for your mother." And I know that the ONLY word that will come to mind will be LOVE!
