An outdoor kitchen
While cleaning a closet this morning I found a large box filled with kitchen toys- cups, plates, utensils, and cookware. What a find! We set the box next to the outdoor kitchen, added a picnic table, and set the children loose. Lily, Lily, and Avery set the table and the area quickly became a restaurant, serving all kinds of tasty delights, including many different varieties of ice cream. Jake and Zack came over to join the game. It has been fascinating to watch some traditionally indoor activities and learning centers are brought outdoors. Children are expanding their repertoire, choosing new experiences outdoors that they might not gravitate towards when it is indoors. This has also encouraged new small groups to form. We'll keep you posted on how it develops.
