Turning five years old

Today was Daniel's 5th Birthday. All the children were sure Daniel was five years old already since he had his birthday party on Sunday. We had a nice discussion about having a birth date vs having a party for your birthday.

Daniel's mom came in to read a wonderful book called A Bad Case of Stripes By David Shannon. This book was funny and all were very engaged in wonder about a little girl named Camilla and her problem of changing colors! Happy birthday to Daniel and thanks to his mom.

    What a sweet tradition to have the family of the birthday child come to read a book. And interesting discussion of birthday/ birthday party. I bet that will continue to come up. Tricky concept.
