It was quiet reading time as groups prepared to use the bathroom for snack. Two friends, Jake and Lily K. were busy reading their books when friends Rachel, Rylan, and Max came over and asked them to read to them.Did these friends read as you and I would read? No, but they looked at the pictures and imagined what was happening and read and developed their own story line.
The first step in creating a love of books, and reading, is providing the children with opportunities to "enjoy" books, feel comfortable with books, and confident in their abilities.
