Tools at school

School is a place where children are encouraged to experiment with new tools. The classroom offers a wide selection of tools: staplers, rolls, of tape, and all kinds of other office and art supplies fill a shelf in the Haifa classroom, inviting children to give them a try. Julia chose to try the flower shaped hole punch. It was a tricky task to maneuver the paper to fit into the slit in the middle of the device. Once in, an even trickier challenge was to press the punch hard enough to get it to cut through the paper. Julia figured out that she had to stand up to leverage her body weight to make that happen. What an experimenter!

  1. what an intent expression on Julia - using the paper punch (which I still have not mastered)and figuring out how to get leverage! You captured some great concentration!

  2. Thanks for sharing this window into Julia's day. She loves to use paper punches at home too.
