A Topsy Turvy Start to Purim
Getting in to the fun and somewhat wacky spirit of Purim, our children set up chairs, assumed the role of teachers, and stridently sang our "welcome" song. We were so busy talking about the story of Purim during morning circle, that we didn't have time to sing our daily song which the children clearly missed. Throughout this week and next we will put on our own versions of the Story of Esther. The children have already expressed a strong interest in playing the various key characters in the story. Purim is coming at a great time for us since the children have already been practicing their acting and directing skills in their own story dramas. The next couple of weeks should be loads of fun. Maybe we will give them additional opportunities to try on the role of "the teacher" in the class as we shake things up over the next two weeks!
