Hand spots

Have you ever wondered why there is a line of snowmen lined up on the cabinet doors in the Sunshine and Rainbow classroom? Those are the hand spots! Spaced perfectly, they allow the children a developmentally appropriate way of lining up to leave the classroom. Each child knows where to stand when he or she is ready. Touching a spot, they wait for their classmates. Once everyone has assembled, it's time to go!

  1. Whenever I get a chance to be in the Sunshine calss, Eli directs me to a snowman so I can line up "correctly", he has clearly internalized this.
