Happy Birthday, Sam
The Rainbow class, along with Sam C.'s family, celebrated Sam's birthday today. As the pictures show, a good time was had by all.
We enjoyed three books: Green Eggs and Ham, Five Little Monkeys Make a Cake, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. All are favorites of the Rainbows. Some of us continued to laugh and joke about the monkeys (don't wake Mommy!) throughout the day. The children enjoyed a special birthday snack of hummus, crackers and apples. Among our classroom rituals, one of our favorites is the making of birthday crowns by all. The children spend increasing amounts of time on these creations, choosing stickers and decorating with markers or crayons. They then wear their crowns with flair in honor of the special day.
