Ice!
The children have had a great time discovering and playing with the ice on the playground! It's everywhere, in buckets, on slides, in creates, in the house and all over the ground of course! They like to pick up big pieces and break then into smaller pieces. They make ice cream and some children like to put the ice in their mouth. Jay picked up a piece of ice and said, "Hey this is like the triangle in the song Josh (Josh the music teacher) sings!"

Spying the layer of very thin ice at the top of the stairs, many children have commented how much it looks like glass or pieces of broken glass. It really is hard to tell what it is and many stop to investigate it in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've got several classes of "scientists" rather than just one. I love how all of the adults encourage and celebrate such exploration! Though I am hoping that pretty soon they can be examining flowers, rather than ice. :)
ReplyDeletebeautiful photos! that's a great ice triangle!
ReplyDeleteNoah loves to throw ice on the pavement and watch it smash into small bits. A fun activity but we are really forward to spring and other exciting observing
